The 7′ length and 1/2″ width rope is graphite-impregnated gasketing that resists abrasion, creosote adhesion, and temperatures up to 1000ºF, and is braided to resist fraying.
Kit also contains 1.35 oz tube of RUTLAND E-Z Spread Fiberglass Stove Gasket Cement to securely attach the provided gasketing.
DIRECTIONS: We recommend wearing protective gloves and eyewear. Working with a cold stove, remove all old gasketing and adhesive from the channel of your stove door or window. For the adhesive to adhere properly, you must clean to bare metal in the gasket channel. Lightly dampen the gasket and the gasket channel in the stove door.
Knead Tube Before Use. Cut tip on angle. Apply a 1/8″ bead of cement into gasket channel, then press the gasket firmly into the channel adhering to cement. Close the door to create a crease in excess gasket. Open door and trim excess gasket at crease. Leave the door open and allow to air dry for one hour. Be sure to heat cure within 30 days.
